Pentair Everpure Announces NSF Microplastics Reduction Claim Update

We are pleased to announce an update to the Pentair Everpure NSF-certified list of specified products to include a Microplastics reduction claim.

Microplastics fall under NSF/ANSI Standard 401 for Emerging Contaminants and Incidental Contaminants. Note that, like the pharmaceuticals, pesticides and fire retardants previously included in 401, the reduction of microplastics is NOT considered a health claim.

Microplastics are tiny plastic particles from 5 mm to 1nm found throughout the environment. According to Science.org*, eight million metric tons of discarded plastic flows into oceans each year. Over time, the plastic particles can make their way to our tap and bottled drinking water.**

While we work on updating our product documents, you can access the current Everpure water filtration NSF product and service listings below and on nsf.org. Navigate to the bottom of the page under NSF/ANSI Standard 401.
